I was told that Christians don't feel pain when they are about to die (ie, car accident, murder....) Is this biblically true?
First, there is no biblical support for the view that Christians don’t feel pain when they die. The Bible is utterly silent on this question. Moreover, we know Jesus experienced pain durign his death on the cross just as He foretold of Himself:
Luke 17:25 “But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
If our Lord was subject to suffering and pain in His death (as the Gospels reflect), then we should not expect less. As Jesus Himself said:
John 15:20 “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
So although it’s possible for a Christian to die a painless death (just as it is for any human being), this is not guaranteed by the Bible.
