Bible Answer

How does one meditate on God’s word?

What does it mean to sit in God's presence and how woiuld someone accomplish this?

Generally speaking, mediating on the word of God is time spent in focused thought and prayer over a passage of Scripture. The focused time gives opportunity for the Spirit to speak to our hearts from the Scripture and to reflect on how we may follow the Bible's direction in our personal life. Meditating is not a mystical experience in anyway, nor does it involve reaching an altered state of consciousness, things that are associated with the occult and demonic practices, not with God.

The phrase "sit in the presence of God" is simply a common euphemism used by believers to mean time spent in communion with God through prayer, study of His word and in similar ways.
