In Egyptian history there is no account of the mass exodus of the Israelites. How come?
Much like other ancient civilizations, Egyptians never recorded major military defeats. As the saying goes, history is written by the victors, so it is unsurprising that the Egyptians would not have recorded their stunning defeat in pursuit of the Israelites. In fact, ancient historians rarely (if ever) find records of defeat preserved within ancient cultures. The tendency to overlook defeat in historical writing is one reason why the Bible is such an important historical work, since it is (by far) the most accurate and complete record of ancient civilizations ever written.
