Can an unmarried mother regain favor from our Lord for her children's sake and herself?
A sinner finds favor with the Lord only through faith in Jesus Christ, as the Bible says:
Heb. 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Rom. 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Rom. 5:2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
Rom. 5:3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
Rom. 5:4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
Rom. 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Rom. 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom. 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Rom. 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Your previous sins (including your sin of having children outside marriage) are forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ. As the Bible says:
Rom. 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, then you are already forgiven for all your sin and have found favor with the Lord and are blessed into eternity. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so. You may read more about saving faith in this article: How can I go to Heaven?
