I want to know whether Daniel, also called Belteshazar, is the son of David and Abigial. How do you explain their age gap?
The genealogy for David is provided in Matthew 1:
Matt. 1:5 Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse.
Matt. 1:6 Jesse was the father of David the king. David was the father of Solomon by Bathsheba who had been the wife of Uriah.
One of David’s sons was a boy named Daniel:
1Chr. 3:1 Now these were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second was Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelitess;
This Daniel is not the prophet Daniel (also called Belteshazar). David’s son Daniel was born approximately 400 years before the prophet Daniel was born.
