Sofi Smith came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 22 after several difficult years as a young mother to her daughter, Gracie. Shortly afterward she reconnected with a childhood friend who became her husband in 2012. Jon later adopted Gracie, and together they welcomed two more children, Jac and Ella.
Sofi and Jon began studying under the mentorship of Stephen and Annette Armstrong, where their marriage and faith were deeply shaped through the study of Scripture and discipleship. Through this mentorship, Sofi was invited to serve on staff at Verse By Verse Ministry International as Executive Assistant to Pastor Stephen Armstrong.
In 2018, Sofi joined Stephen in the church plant of Verse By Verse Fellowship in San Antonio, serving in numerous roles including administration, children’s ministry, and pastoral support. She later served as the primary children’s teacher for several years. Today, Sofi continues teaching children weekly at Christ Community Church in San Antonio, Texas, while working full-time with Verse By Verse Ministry International.
Sofi and Jon also disciple individuals and counsel young couples all over America. In 2020, Sofi received a certificate in Biblical counseling and continues to study alongside mental health professionals to better support families and children.
Sofi is passionate about Scripture and has devoted her life to serving Christ through ministry in her home, local church, and around the world.
