Bible Answer

Explain life in the Kingdom?

Can you explain life in the Kingdom for the Church saints? What will we be doing during those 1,000 years?

A full description of life in the Kingdom would require a very lengthy explanation, but fortunately VBVMI already offers such a description in our Revelation Bible study (see Lessons 20B & 20C).

To summarize, the Church saints will play a role in judging the nations as part of the Kingdom government under Christ. First, the twelve apostles will rule over the tribes of Israel:

Matt. 19:27 Then Peter said to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?”
Matt. 19:28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Secondly, the Gentile church will judge the nations of the earth:

Dan. 7:27 ‘Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’
1Cor. 6:2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?

Furthermore, the Church will sit in judgment of fallen angels:

1Cor. 6:3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?

Apart from our ruling authority, we will also live a full life of building, planting, harvesting and enjoying the feasts of the Lord. Speaking of Israel, the Lord describes some of what life in the Kingdom will be life for His people:

Is. 65:21      “They will build houses and inhabit them;
    They will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Is. 65:22      “They will not build and another inhabit,
    They will not plant and another eat;
    For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,
    And My chosen ones will wear out the work of their hands.
Is. 65:23      “They will not labor in vain,
    Or bear children for calamity;
    For they are the offspring of those blessed by the Lord,
    And their descendants with them.
Is. 65:24 “It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.
Is. 65:25 “The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain,” says the Lord.

Though this description is directed at Israel, it’s fair to assume that the life of Gentile saints in the Kingdom will be similar.
