Since there is a pandemic all over the world and we are on home quarantine, is it still possible to take communion at home? Should the father/husband of the household be the one to offer it? Or are only ordained ministers allowed to offer it?
Communion may be shared by any group of believers at any time, because the Bible does not assign any special role to "ministers" in the church. Pastors and teachers are given to the body to strengthen us in our walk, but they are not "special" people nor do they possess special abilities or rights. In fact, there is no distinction between these individuals and the rest of the body, since all believers are part of the same priesthood according to Scripture:
1Pet. 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
So any believer may baptize another believer, and any believer may serve communion to any other believer, etc. We encourage you to conduct communion by reading 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 or one of the Gospel accounts as you share the bread and wine/juice.
