What are the souls or spirits doing in heaven right now?

What are the souls or spirits doing in heaven right now? My wife passed away, and I’ve been wondering what is happening in heaven at this very moment.

The only experiences of the Heavenly throne room given to us are worship moments before the throne, which you can find in Isaiah 6 or Revelation 4-5, among others. These passages depict one aspect of life in Heaven, but we should not conclude that they are the full extent of our Heavenly experience.

On the contrary, we have good reason to know that life in Heaven is rich and rewarding in many ways beyond what is reported in Scripture, but Paul says there are wonderful things hidden from us:

2Cor. 12:2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago — whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows — such a man was caught up to the third heaven.
2Cor. 12:3 And I know how such a man — whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows —
2Cor. 12:4 was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak.

Paul specifically said it is not permissible for tell us what he saw in the Heavenly realm, which suggests there is much more to see than has been revealed in the passages we cited above. So we should assume that the few scenes we do have are just scratching the surface of what we will experience in Heaven.

Moreover, we can be confident that the experience of any believer upon death will be glorious, joyful and beyond our imagination, as Paul says:

1Cor. 2:9 but just as it is written,
“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
