Scriptural advice on choosing a spouse?

While we can't direct you in a specific way concerning finding a spouse, we can remind you of what scripture teaches concerning marriage:

• First, a believer must seek a believing spouse:

2Cor. 6:14  Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 

• Even more, a believer should seek for the most mature, stable follower of Christ possible. Marriage is a partnership, where the couple's goals, values and practices need to work together to glorify Christ. Marriage also includes (at times) conflict and strife, and in all these things a believer should possess a mate who sees the world through a common lens of scripture. 
• Spend time with your love interest asking questions about each other’s view of scripture and of best to live to serve Christ. These conversations are important to uncovering spiritual differences, if any, and resolving them before marriage. For the same reasons, we also recommend spending time together with the person in prayer and Bible study. 
• Finally, the Bible teaches we must remain unstained by immorality prior to marriage. As Hebrews says:

Heb. 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. 

Remain chaste and do not engage in fornication. Remain pure waiting for the day of your marriage, and seek a marriage partner who has done the same.
